Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into making man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the first years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machine with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These equipment are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
