Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The particular design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The main objective is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is gently rounded and extremely comfortable. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, so as to keep the operator functioning as effectively as he or she could.
Vibration levels and noise levels are kept low thanks to the insulated mounting on the chassis. So that they can maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all individually adjustable. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 simple to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers that are offered for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.
A ventilation/heating unit ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Basic instrumentation consists of: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Additionally, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is amongst the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the equipment. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors which happen and their current values.
