Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machines are able to turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks work in less than 6 feet places and usually utilize certain guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more productive while limiting fatigue.
