Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that could power forklifts. They could run from gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine has to be refueled.
So as to prevent potentially serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
