Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are among the most frequently used types of crane in the construction business. They are used to construct everything from freeway overpasses and roadways to skyscrapers and buildings.
There is a large variety of crane units, styles and sizes available on the market. There are a lot of different types in order to serve a variety of different reasons in the industry. Choosing the right kind of crane is essential for making sure that the material could be transported safely and efficiently to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.
Truck Cranes
Usually, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are very useful for building locations where a crane is required in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be driven easily from one location to another.
Cranes can also be transported to various construction sites on the road because they drive themselves, which eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport expenses at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane could handle. Thus, so as to fix this issue, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure to be able to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature large tracks on the bottom of the crane. These huge tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction machinery such as bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
